Job Summary 

The Manager of Relationship Marketing is responsible for managing multi-channel relationship marketing communications, with a strong emphasis on email. They will own and support crafting channel and guest specific strategies. In addition to crafting channel strategies, they will be responsible for the translation of strategic plans into tactical plans, with an emphasis on prioritizing, owning and driving the day to day marketing plans. This manager will combine their project management, problem solving and marketing skills to drive Vail Resort’s relationship marketing channels forward. 


Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as a thought-leader and contribute to the strategic relationship marketing campaign efforts (email, mobile, DM) in close alignment with line of business teams to drive greater channel engagement and increased conversion
  • Use in-depth marketing industry knowledge, gather primary and secondary customer insights, collect database findings, and gain a deep understanding of internal business goals to develop impactful contact strategy
  • Improve enterprise wide marketing campaign performance by creating and interpreting campaign results, working closely with stakeholders to drive improvements in marketing engagement and conversion
  • Manage the end-to-end process for all Relationship Marketing campaigns including strategy design, planning, targeting, requirements gathering and writing, campaign delivery and reporting
  • Work closely with the brand, lines of business and content teams to optimize the design, content, layout, customer segmentation and messaging strategies
  • Manage and/or mentor a team of relationship marketing specialists
  • Possess a strong sense of self-awareness and convey and exemplify the Vail Resorts standard of leadership. Strong focus on leadership development of self and team
  • Create solutions that automate processes involving complex systems/data that increase our ability to dynamically personalize customer and prospect communications within the Relationship Marketing team
  • Provide relationship marketing thought leadership on customer contact strategies in alignment with media and on-site digital experience to increase year over year customer retention
  • Develop and implement lifecycle campaign strategies to drive emotional connections with our guests that build trust and ultimately drive sales, cross-sell, and up-sell


Job Requirements


  • 6+ years' experience in email and/or mobile (SMS, push) marketing
  • Proven track record in building, implementing and optimizing go-to-market strategies in a multi-channel environment
  • Comfortable reading analytics reporting, interpreting it and developing actionable insights
  • Ability to both develop and deliver presentations 
  • Excellent project management skills. 
  • Best practice, email deliverability and compliance fluency.  


  • Supervisory experience managing other marketers
  • Experience with marketing automation tools 
  • Experience working with or in email and digital marketing for a hospitality, travel, or ski company
  • Moderate understanding of marketing databases and using data to build go-to-market audiences
  • Experience with or related tools including Adobe Analytics and Adobe Campaign
  • Bachelor's or associate’s degree and/or comparable experience


The budgeted range starts at $74,900 - $89,900 + annual bonus.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
