Position Overview

Do you have a passion to test and learn? Do you get excited by creating digital experiences, aimed at optimizing the UX for the guest and driving revenue for the business?  The Digital Optimization Manager is an amazing opportunity if you want to be the leading force behind driving forward the Digital testing program at Vail Resorts. 

The Digital Optimization Manager will be responsible for three main components:

 

  1. Create and manage the testing roadmap to delivers on Vail Resorts’ strategic priorities

 

  1. Design and execute Digital A/B and Multivariate tests by partnering with Marketing Technology, Digital Experience, Relationship Marketing, and other delivery functions 

 

  1. Partner with Marketing Analytics to communicate actionable insights on consumer behavior

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Roadmap: Develop, manage and communicate a testing roadmap that optimizes the online experience and delivers on key business priorities.  Leverage various research methods such as web analysis, usability research, etc. to identify opportunities to improve the site experience, task completion, and funnel conversion.
  • Design Experiments: Expertise in designing A/B and Multi-variate experiments, identifying user segments and determining testing KPI.  Responsible for setting up experiments in testing and site monitoring tools; such as Adobe Test and Target and MouseFlow

 

  • High Quality User Experience: Apply digital best practices when designing new user experiences across a responsive platform.  This role is responsible for defining business and interaction requirements as well as UAT’ing the test variations to ensure a high quality experience.

 

  • Execution: Partner with Analytics and Marketing Technology to develop and QA test experiments using an agile methodology

 

  • Communicate Results and Insights: Communicate fact-based test recaps in a compelling manner that clearly articulate the consumer or UX insight behind the data

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (Business, Technology, Marketing, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Management Information Systems) required
  • Fluent in A/B testing methodologies and had success in driving significant growth through testing
  • Experience with A/B testing tools specific to test creation (Adobe Analytics / Adobe Target / Maximizer / Optimizely / Google Analytics) required.
  • Experience in marketing, business development and/or business strategy, including a minimum of five (5) years of experience in e-commerce or online marketing, with responsibility for user experience development/management, e-commerce, online marketing and/or online business strategy
  • Strong understanding of website standards, usability, site design, and ecommerce preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience presenting to senior-level audiences.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills. 
  • Proven ability to collaborate well across functions and departments, to work as part of a team, and to lead teams in achieving goals. Experience managing many projects simultaneously to successful execution. 
  • Familiarity with the travel industry and the online travel customer decision-making process is helpful.
  • Active interest in skiing, snowboarding and travel is helpful.
  • Minimal travel to our various resorts
