Job Summary


Vail Resorts has a dynamic opportunity for a QA Automation Specialist to join our organization and become a key contributor. The QA Automation Specialist role will report to the Director of Digital Technology and sit within the Digital Experience team. The QA Automation Specialist will work across consumer-facing web, mobile, mobile app, ecommerce and the boarder marketing technology space applications. This position must have a solid foundation for both software QA and QA automation. The purpose of the role is to maintain and enhance the existing digital application ecosystem through quality assurance support and building out new test automation solutions. This role will plan and implement the architecture for our automation platform. The initial responsibility of the role will be to automate our digital analytics regression test.  Once we have a successful regression test, we will scale the automation frame work to our resort sites and EpicMix applications. 


Job Responsibilities


  • Execute and report on the full testing suite for both manual and automated tests.
  • Create reusable, extendable and automated test scripts by influencing "design for testing" strategies within the Digital Experience Team.
  • Champions automation methodologies.
  • Creates and maintains automated testing artifacts.
  • Improve the maturity of regression scripting & execution processes for digital analytics and functional testing
  • Provides accurate, clear and concise testing status updates across multiple projects.
  • Participates in requirement reviews and sprint ceremonies to stay informed of potential impact to testing.
  • Integrate automation framework into Continous Integration and Continuous Delivery cycles 
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of customer requirements, offer suggestions on how best to deliver solutions.
  • Creates, ensures adherence and maintains appropriate standards and quality procedures across the QA organization.
  • Identifies, communicates and provides solutions to issues that impact project schedules.


 Minimum Qualifications


  • Degree in Computer Science or applicable field
  • 2 years of experience with formal test methods and quality assurance
  • 1 year or more of automation experience in a professional software development environment
  • Able to create clear, concise, detail-oriented test plans from specifications or verbal communications.
  • Work with the QA team in developing a QA testing strategy for the project, determining the appropriate balance of manual and automated tests, as well as the types of tests (UI, web service API, functional/performance/load, etc..)
  • Punctual with strong time-management skills
  • Focused on quality outcomes that meet established success parameters and also leverage creative problem-solving
  • Interested in personal & professional growth and development
  • Interested in team engagement and participation; work-related recreation & daily professional interaction
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and planning skills.
  • Experience with Agile software development (particularly Scrum) and JIRA


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with Selenium, Telerik or other automated testing tools
  • JavaScript: familiar to proficient
  • HTML: proficient to adept
  • Adobe Analytics: familiar
  • High attention to detail with proven ability to juggle multiple, competing priorities of various sizes and complexities.
  • A track record of making things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that requires you to use your initiative, imagination, and common sense to be successful.
  • Experience using source control systems such as Github
