Summary of Job:

 

The Sr. Marketing Manager for the Australia Destination business is responsible for translating the general strategic direction from senior leadership into a set of concrete strategies and plans for the guests he or she is responsible for. The job requires strategic skills, leadership, and a highly developed set of marketing and general management skills that can translate into successful sales, share and profit results.

 

This position will oversee marketing efforts for the Australia Destination business, including resort and pass messaging. Responsibilities will include: full oversight of advertising elements associated with driving destination visits from Australians and Epic Australia Pass sales, including email, display, SEM, digital video, direct mail, in-market and in-resorts events, as well as monitoring of brand standards across all mediums. Responsibilities include strategic development, reporting and data analysis, budget management, forecasting, and overall project management. This position will also be responsible for day-to-day relations with external vendors, outside corporate partners, and internal relations with departments such as media, RM, IT, PSS/CSS, resort marketing directors, international marketing, sales, digital and content marketing teams.

 

A broad range of strategic planning and tactical management skills are required, including analysis, concept development, plan communications, project management, media planning, and budget planning/oversight.  The position requires superior interpersonal relationship building and communication skills.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and build the Australia destination and Australian pass marketing strategies - in collaboration with the leadership, business, and resort teams – to drive growth and effectively shift consumer behavior from 3rd party to direct sales channels.
  • Develop comprehensive go-to-market plans and subsequently carry through to execution, measurement and optimization
  • Develop and execute all marketing initiatives; including contingency planning
  • Lead and manage the Perisher marketing and executive team to drive visitation growth via targeted Epic Australia Pass strategies
  • Plan and execute upon meaningful and successful participation in in-market consumer events
  • Build bottom-up, data-driven sales budgets for Epic Australia Pass and Epic Pass
  • Data-driven forecasting of destination visitation 
  • Play a leadership role throughout the organization in coordination with other functional areas to ensure that the necessary actions occur in support of the top priorities.
  • Track ongoing results. Investigate, Analyze, and Communicate key successes and opportunities to key stakeholders
  • Ability to work closely with Research and Analytics teams to develop insights, “tell the story” of the data, and harness it to inform strategic decision making and future visitation
  • Develop and execute new ideas to meet growth objectives for the company
  • Prioritize business needs and qualify opportunities
  • Actively collaborate with Corporate and Resort teams to drive collective success
  • Deliver key presentations to upper management and provide regular reports on the state of the business
  • Identify and manage targeted in-market partnerships
  • Budgeting

 

Job Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in marketing, communications or advertising, and a minimum of four years of specific related experience in advertising and/or marketing.  Resort or hospitality experience is also preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years relevant work experience
  • A self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and fiscally minded.
