The Corporate Sustainability Analytics Manager leads the development and implementation of enterprise wide energy and waste data collection, analytics, and reporting. This position will use the analysis of energy and waste data to identify and develop energy and waste management programs in conjunction with the Sustainability team leadership. This role will work with the Director of Sustainability, the Sustainability team, divisional leadership, best practice group leaders, and employees across business units to proactively gather, report, and analyze energy and waste data to drive insights that ensure goal progress. These efforts will support our bold sustainability goal, Commitment to Zero, for a zero net operating footprint across the Vail Resort’s enterprise by 2030.

 

The position will be based at the corporate headquarters in Broomfield, CO.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage enterprise program for effective and efficient waste and energy data gathering.
  • Develop and manage process to analyze waste and energy data and use analysis to develop waste and energy reduction strategies across enterprise.
  • Develop and manage energy and waste metrics reporting and dashboards.
  • Conduct and manage annual greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory and process.
  • Develop and manage internal program to track emissions reductions from operational changes, behavioral campaigns, and other capital implementation.
  • Project management: effectively manage complex capital and budgetary projects that may involve multiple resorts, departments, time constraints, and external partners that further our sustainability goals.
  • Engagement and outreach: effectively communicate environmental sustainability through various channels that will demonstrate leadership and drive guest and employee loyalty to our programs and resorts.
  • Supports brand, positioning, and outreach of sustainability initiatives to guests, employees, and communities in alignment with EpicPromise.
  • Teamwork & Leadership: be a strong contributor and leader within the greater Vail Resorts Sustainability team.
  • Occasional travel will be required to resorts across North America.

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 4+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably in energy, waste management, and sustainability.
  • Ability to facilitate strategic dialogue and problem solving across multiple departments.
  • Demonstrated ability of being Out-Front and proactively identifying programs and projects to objective goals.
  • Comfortable speaking in front of groups and building new relationships.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and manage workload of competing deadlines and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong computer skills in Excel required.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Greenhouse gas inventory experience preferred.
  • Experience developing and implementing energy or waste management programs across diverse operations types.
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic capital plans across diverse locations.
  • Experience implementing and managing large projects with many different stakeholders across varied operations.
  • Proven experience in written and verbal communication with executive level leadership.

 The budgeted range starts at $67,000-$81,150 + annual bonus.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
