Reporting to the Sr. Merchandise Planning Manager, the Assistant Planner of Reporting and Data Analytics is responsible for the development, maintenance and re-imagining of tools and processes to support the planning of and reporting out on key retail metrics, including sales, gross margin, receipts, and inventory productivity. This position will collaborate with the Sr. Merchandise Planning Manager and team to understand reporting and analysis needs for the greater Merchandising team and deliver creative solutions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and transparency on key metrics. This includes open-to-buy reporting, buy planning, annual budgeting, business recapping, and ad hoc reporting/analysis.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Produce weekly/monthly reporting on key business metrics, including sales, margin, receipts, inventory and open-to-buy
  • Develop, evolve and maintain tools that support key Merchandise Planning objectives and provide transparency on business trends and outlook
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and financial focus for decisions and strategies that maximize sales, margin and inventory productivity
  • Collaborate with Merchant team to understand reporting and analysis needs and deliver creative solutions
  • Manage company open-to-buy reports in partnership with Assistant Merchandise Planner, ensuring accuracy of data and transparency of strategies
  • Participate in annual budgeting process by creating/re-imagining tools, ensuring alignment of data and strategies with Finance partners
  • Drive change and re-imagine ways of working in a growth environment
  • Anticipate business needs and be proactive in developing processes and calendars to keep teams on track
  • Train teams on how to use business tools and reporting
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Finance, Merchant Team, Inventory Management and Operational Team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors’ degree in related field or prior work experience; Bachelors’ degree in Business Science preferred
  • In depth experience with Microsoft Excel functions (V look up, Pivot Tables, Macros)
  • MS Office Products; Advanced MS Excel Required
  • English fluency both written and verbal
  • Attention to detail with strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Experience in inventory management, allocation, replenishment, and/or planning
  • Familiarity with planning/inventory management programs

 

 The budgeted range starts at $22.12- $23.08.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
