Job Summary

The Senior Manager of Supply Chain will be a technical but strategic leader that will drive supply chain innovation, coordination and efficiency within Vail Resorts Retail.  This position will also focus on broader supply chain compliance and efficiency in vendor performance, vendor environmental practices, routing/transportation and distribution center optimization.  This position will focus on warehouse systems process improvement in coordination with the merchandise and Store Operations Groups to drive efficiency and scalability in the overall supply chain. 


Job Responsibilities

  • Leads supply chain innovation and efficiency throughout the retail/rental organization by partnering with departments to support the company’s vision.
  • Functions as a supply chain liaison within the business collaborating with Store Operations, merchants, and the Distribution Center Operations Groups. 
  • Drives innovation by maximizing capabilities of current warehouse management systems and seeking out new advancements in technology and process.
  • Drives the supply chain discovery process, supports implementation and deployment for complex projects. 
  • Ensures meaningful supply chain KPIs (key performance indicators) are set, measured and communicated across the organization to drive visibility, understanding and performance of the supply chain.
  • Provides leadership to four direct reports and is responsible for their respective department’s performance.  
  • Develops departmental plans and organizational priorities in vendor compliance, customs compliance, transportation, vehicle fleet, operations support and special orders. 
  • Has industry knowledge and best practices in vendor compliance, transportation/routing, EDI (electronic data interchange), distribution center operations, customer service and vehicle fleet management. 
  • Controls resources and guides decisions based on functional objectives and priorities set by the company and this position.
  • Highly capable of producing and presenting business case materials to all levels of the organization to gain understanding, alignment and action.  
  • Develops a higher level of vendor accountability for performance and sustainability. 
  • Plays a key role in in new resort integrations supply chain strategy and execution. 
  • Establishes policies where needed in all areas of responsibility.
  • Performs other duties as required.


Job Requirements


  • 8+ years supply chain management
  • Track record of leading innovation in supply chain processes
  • Track record of leading teams and working collaboratively with other departments
  • Warehouse Management System understanding
  • Strong understanding of EDI processes
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workload and competing priorities
  • Strong presentation skills


  • JDA MMS System
  • Current retail supply chain experience
