Team Lead Trail Maintenance - Summer Seasonal

The Trail Crew Team Lead performs daily mountain maintenance and mountain improvements concentrating on re-vegetation, trail maintenance, erosion control, brush cutting, and general mountain clean up. Responsibilities will also include assisting with logging operations, pipe installation when needed. Physical duties include: loading/unloading of re-vegetation supplies, seed/fertilizer distribution, skidding/tree removal, and general maintenance.  The individual in this position must be self-motivated and have the ability to follow instructions. Must have strong leadership and communication skills. Must be able to manage a team, and effectively delegate tasks and give constructive feedback. Must be able to make decisions using sound reasoning. Must have a valid driver's license and have the ability to drive vehicles including 4WD trucks and ATV/UTVS.

Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age or older - required
  • Able to lift and carry 75 lbs - required
  • Able to stand/walk for long periods of time - required
  • Physical dexterity to hike on ski slopes is required - required
  • Valid US driver's license - required
  • Acceptable driving record - required
  • Able to work outside in all mountain weather conditions - required
  • Able to work weekends and holidays - required
  • Able to communicate in English - required
  • Previous on mountain work experience in Beaver Creek - highly preferred
  • At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role with Vail Resorts- highly preferred
  • Experience in a leadership role in trail maintenance, landscaping, forestry or wetland management- highly preferred
     
     

The budgeted range starts at 15.00-24.00.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
