Job Summary
The Food and Beverage (F&B) Organization is comprised of over 300 different restaurants that share a commitment to bringing excellence to mountain dining as part of the overall ski experience. The Food & Beverage Assistant Manager is responsible for the operations of the daily activities and processes of the restaurant as well as assisting the Food & Beverage General Manager with training and supervising all staff. This is a fast-paced environment that requires exceptional interpersonal skills, as well as someone who is able to maintain composure in stressful situations.

Job Responsibilities
- Provide great guest service in high-volume outlets that include full-service casual dining, quick-service cafeteria dining, bars, and special event venues.
- Execute daily operations by managing opening and/or closing of F&B locations, including filling front-line employee positions as necessary, especially during non-peak periods.
- Operate all outlets within revenue and budget guidelines under the direction of the Food and Beverage Manager.
- Lead and manage all F&B employees including but not limited to hourly supervisors, and all FOH and BOH staff.
- Partner with F&B Management team to hire, train, develop, schedule, review and provide disciplinary action for F&B employees.
- Partner with F&B Management team in the execution and oversight of all F&B operations including kitchen, food quality, inventory levels, and product ordering.
- Assist with event and wedding coordination and communication as needed.
- Partner with F&B Admin to ensure all payroll is accurate and complete for hourly staff.
- Responsible for alcohol inventory, ordering and management.
- Adhere to all policies, rules, regulations in both food service and alcohol management.
- Adhere to all policies, rules, and regulations of Vail Resorts and Afton Alps.
- Ensure all F&B locations are clean, have updated materials, and present a professional appearance to our guests, staff, and purveyors.
- Develop, adhere to, and role model the company’s mission, vision, and values.
- Accurately schedules staff to business level based on forecast and labor cost objectives.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- 5 years F&B experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory role – Required
- Strong ability to train employees to set service standards.
- Professionalism and strong guest service skills, attention to detail and timeliness.
- Flexible schedule required during peak times throughout the season. Must be willing to work evenings, holidays and weekends – Required.
- MS office and POS (IG) proficiency – Required.
- Certified in TIPS and enforcement of Bartender's Code of Conduct – Required.
- Possess strong liquor and beer knowledge for training ability – Preferred
- Certified Slip Resistant shoes are required prior to starting work. Shoes must be provided by the employee.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form including communicating on the mountain radio.
- Working knowledge of kitchen areas and work with chefs/culinary programs to establish and maintain sanitization and food quality standards.
- High level of interpersonal skills to ensure: teamwork, high level guest contact, fact finding for appropriate decision making, commitment to guest service and employee relations.
- Must demonstrate ability to receive and give direction and act upon it.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

The expected pay range is $25.00 - $28.94. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
