The Wedding Supervisor is responsible for delivering an Experience of a Lifetime to all hosts and attendees of weddings at Afton Alps. This individual will be responsible for organizing, coordinating, and helping hosts deliver successful events. This position routinely focuses on nuptial ceremonies and receptions. This person will work with the Wedding Coordinator, Food and Beverage Manager, Executive Chef, and Food and Beverage Personnel. The candidate must be committed to superior Guest service and quality standards. This individual plays a key role in motivating and ensuring the wedding team is successful and continues to exceed the Guest expectations.


Responsibilities include:

  • Acts as the secondary point of contact for Wedding and Event Hosts.
  • Acts as the secondary point of contact for all cross-functional groups that plan events resort-wide.
  • Works with Wedding Coordinator to confirm and schedule all tasks associated with the wedding (including pre and post event activities), employee support, and communication to cross-functional groups, as necessary.
  • Partners with Wedding Coordinator to understand banquet food and beverage options and pricing; schedule tasting events; and determining employee scheduling.
  • Acts as secondary point of contact for all outside, event-specific vendors leading up to the wedding.
  • Partners with Wedding Coordinator to train new employees.
  • Executes the physical setup of all banquet areas.
  • Supports the Wedding Coordinator in supervision of the overall cadence for the event and ensuring staff is executing to plan.
  • Is responsible for proper and accurate accounting practices. Assists with closing of cash terminals and financial paperwork at end of wedding nights to ensure accurate revenue reporting.
  • Resolves and documents Guest complaints. Accommodates special requests, when appropriate.
  • Upholds safety standards within the department and resort.
  • Ensures employees are knowledgeable about our food and beverage, overall facilities, company policies and procedures, and work schedules.
  • Partners with Wedding Coordinator to continually coach and develop employees.
  • Partners with all Food and Beverage staff to continuously optimize and improve processes and procedures.
  • In the event of the Wedding Coordinators absence from a wedding event, fills in as primary point of contact for day-of wedding event.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Wedding Coordinator or Food and Beverage Manager.
  • Adheres to and models the mission, vision, and values of Vail Resorts and Afton Alps.



  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience (preferred)
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in a Guest service environment
  • Previous sales experience (preferred)
  • RPOS experience (preferred)
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to function in a high-stress environment
  • Works well on a team with a willingness to jump in and help, when needed
  • Positive attitude
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Able to communicate effectively (verbal and written) in English
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, weekdays, evenings, & holidays
